While we specialize in getting our regional drivers home every weekend, we also need the ability to provide capacity to our customers 7 days per week, including weekends. With that goal in mind, we are looking to bring on drivers with the flexibility to run on weekends and stay out for about 12 days…or longer if the driver prefers.
All drivers will run in our normal regional network, so should the need arise for the driver to be home for an emergency, family event or doctor visit, just let us know and, in most cases, we'll have you home the very next day.
Staying out for two weeks or longer is optional. Drivers are welcome to be home every weekend for a while then choose to stay out for 2 weeks or longer from time or time. Drivers are welcome to stay out much longer than 2 weeks as well. It's the driver's choice.
In addition to the normal pay structure, drivers that take a 34-hour restart on the road earn an extra $100 for each 34-hour break taken away from home.
The $100 pay also applies in the rare situation that a driver who planned to be home for the weekend was unable to make it home in time.
Certain restrictions apply.
Drivers staying out for two weeks are consistently achieving 3,000 to 3,500 miles per week and earning 53 to 55 cents per mile including all applicable bonus pay.

Every driver in our regional fleet has been home every weekend for years. Even more, if a driver needs to be home during the week for a family event, doctor's appointment or any other reason, we make sure the driver is home when needed all while still maximizing the driver's miles and income for the week.

If we had our way, every load in our network would be a preloaded pickup and a drop delivery. Right now, about 85% of our runs are drop and hook. We will continue to work with our customers to add as many drop & hook loads as possible.

We know every driver has a few favorite runs. We'll take the time to learn how you like to run and do our best to keep you on your preferred routes as often as possible.

We understand that finding safe overnight parking can be a challenge. That's why we have many shippers and receivers in our network that allow overnight parking at their facility. In fact, parking availability is one of the first questions we ask a potential new customer.

When possible, we will plan you on multiple trips at one time, so you know where and when you're picking up next before you start a trip. This extra planning allows drivers to plan their trip better and get more miles by connecting two trips together. We aren't able to do a multi-trip plan for every driver every time, but we do it as often as possible.

Every driver is assigned to a specific tractor. We offer Freightliner and International tractors with a mix of manual and automatic transmissions. We add new equipment every year and we'll do everything we can to put you in a truck that matches your preferences.
Armstrong Transportation has some of the top safety scores around...and we plan to keep it that way. From operating safely to preventing accidents and injuries, our entire company remains focused on the safety of our team and the motoring public that we proudly serve.
While we pride ourselves on getting all our drivers home every weekend, we do have weekend freight as well. Drivers use the weekend freight to pick up some extra miles or to make up the miles missed because of a day off during the normal week. Much of the weekend freight is day-trips within 225 miles of Memphis, Little Rock and other areas of our network.
We do our best to make every day perfect for our drivers, but as you know, trucking isn't always perfect. Things like canceled loads, delays at customers and breakdowns are going to happen. When they do, every member of the Armstrong team will be working hard to resolve problems and correct issues as quickly as possible. Fortunately at Armstrong, these things don't happen often, but when they do, Armstrong is going to step up every time with detention pay, breakdown pay and other solutions to make things right for our valuable drivers.

As of March 1, 2024, we have no active open positions for local drivers. Many of our local drivers started as Regional drivers, so please consider our Regional opportunity as a first step towards a future local position with us.

Armstrong's regional company drivers enjoy every weekend at home along with excellent miles and income. With our 85% drop-and-hook network, depending on the driver's goals and availability, weekly miles range from 2,300 to 3,300+ per week.

Armstrong Transportation is always ready to welcome new owner-operators to our regional fleet. We've had owner-operators as a key part of our fleet for over 15 years, so we understand the goals, challenges and needs of owner-operators.
